Originally from Covington, Georgia, Tyler grew up an athlete playing baseball for over a decade and wrestling in middle and high school. It was while wrestling as a junior in high school, he suffered a catastrophic neck injury that ended his athletic career and changed his life forever.
After years of rehabilitation, he began pursuing a career in sports media. After obtaining an associates degree in journalism from Georgia State University, he transferred to the University of Georgia where he earned a bachelors in journalism and a certification in sports media.
While attending UGA, he got his first taste of radio broadcasting at the student radio station. Here he co-hosted weekly sports talk shows and served as an announcer for Athens area high school football. Prior to his senior year, he began working for the Georgia Bulldogs’ flagship radio station as a board operator before becoming an on-air talent for their sports talk programming.
Tyler is a lifelong fan of the Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons, as well as a diehard NASCAR fan where he cheers for Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott. Outside of traditional sports, he’s also an avid professional wrestling fan.
He moved to the Columbia area in early 2022. he and his wife Peyton currently live in Lexington.
